Founded in 2018, Elesi was set up to provide high quality electrical products at competitive prices. With a focus on great customer service backed up by expert knowledge, Elesi aimed to offer an unrivalled service in their marketplace.
To create a new eCommerce experience for the B2C marketplace. Elesi needed to compete in a crowded marketplace from day one while allowing plenty of scope for the business to scale.
An eCommerce system built on Magento 2 and tailored for a B2C market. Ease of use was key so we harnessed the large amount of product data into user friendly facets, search and product information pages. A fully integrated Wordpress blog was added to provide Elesi with an opportunity to communicate their industry knowledge with consumers.
We focused on a clean user-centric design with an elegant interface, using strong contemporary photography to highlight Elesi’s product range. To keep on the theme of classic and professional, we used a traditional serif typeface for the display type and then a clearer simple type for the body. The colours used throughout the design embody a neutral palette, using a single pale olive green as an action colour.
With a wide range of similar products on offer, it was important to provide users with clear methods of navigation as well as in-depth product information. The key to this was planning product attributes and groups carefully before loading any data into the store.
With a well-organised foundation we were able to use the product data to provide clear navigation, user-friendly facets on category pages and advanced search functionality. All of these give the user the ability to quickly drill down to only the relevant products they need.
Quick view functionality was added to all product grid areas such as categories and search results. This allows customers to quickly compare more detailed product information without navigating to a new page.
Product pages were carefully broken down into sections, allowing customers to easily find the information they need. Related, cross-sell and upsell product areas were used to promote alternatives at key areas, providing customers with a fluid journey through the product catalog.
Our carefully considered UX was designed to keep users on the store by allowing them to easily find the products and information they needed. Abandoned cart emails were also added to entice what would have been lost sales back to the site to complete a purchase. The emails are fully automated to send at specific intervals after a customer has left the store without completing a purchase.
As a new business Elesi were keen to get their products listed in as many places as possible. To facilitate this we provided an automated integration with Amazon and eBay marketplaces. Products are automatically listed, revised and removed based on rules set in Magento, including inventory levels. Orders from these marketplaces are also synced into Magento, providing a single source for admin to manage. Integration was also added to automatically push product data to Google shopping, allowing Elesi to capitalise on shopping ads and improved SEO.
To make order fulfillment straight forward we worked closely with Elesi’s chosen fulfillment provider to great a seamless link between Magento and their system. All order data and product inventory is regularly transferred between the two systems.
