Boudavida is now LIVE!

Earlier this week, our client Boudavida went LIVE! We are always excited to see projects come to life and wanted to share their story with you.

A bit about Boudavida

Boudavida is a new women’s sport and active wear company with a difference. As well as combining fashion with functionality to create clothes that make women feel good about their bodies and inspired to get active, they are also raising money for women’s sport in the process – doing good, while looking good!

Their eCommerce Journey

Boudavida initially came to us looking for an eCommerce site that was user-friendly but had all the functionality that comes from an eCommerce store. Their main competitors were high quality active wear companies like Lululemon and Sweaty Betty, and they wanted to make sure their store could compete with them from initial launch.

They’d already commissioned Blue Marlin who helped with their branding, and they supplied us with the logo and colour palette. We worked closely with them and put together a digital strategy, and soon took over to do the UX.

Anabel, CEO at Boudavida wanted to make a big impact from the launch, Magento was the perfect platform as it has the infrastructure and tools necessary to drive customers through to purchase level in a natural and fluid way. In addition to a Magento eCommerce website, we integrated WordPress for their blog.

We started the project by researching similar clothing websites, including their competitors, and all agreed the design should be clear and minimal with casual photography, and simple and elegant product pages.

On top of the standard build, we also implemented the follow key functionalities:

• Quick buy option on products

• Category pages to be designed as mini-landing pages to optimise SEO

• Compare and favourite buttons

• Abandoned cart setup

• Simplified checkout system

• SagePay suite for online refunds and management

• Google Certified Shop

• PayPal and Express checkout

• Dynamic address/postcode lookup

What we enjoyed about this project was the challenge of working with Blue Marlin and adapting their brand vision to online user-experience/store. This is also the first time we’ve worked with a high-end women’s activewear brand, and as a start-up company, we are happy to be there from the start and see the launch.

The finalised store ticks all the client’s requirements and fits with their branding and image. The project ran extremely smoothly, and we couldn’t be prouder of the results.
